Tory – Peregrine Falcon(Falco peregrinus)
Tory is a Peregrine Falcon born in captivity in 2000. She has been a falconer’s bird her entire life & worked with her falconer as a mitigation bird. Unfortunately, she injured her right wing hitting a sprinkler head while patrolling a blueberry field for starlings. Although she is still flighted the injury impaired her maneuverability. Her falconer was afraid she might be attacked by eagles while flying & she would not be able to evade them. So he kindly retired Tory to us for her safety. She now has a whole new job educating people about her species.
