“Pumba” was found under a house at Running Y Ranch in Klamath Falls, OR with his brother in the Summer of 2011. Something had happened to their mom, and neither had eaten for days. The raccoon population in Klamath Falls was exploding at this time, and many raccoons had multiple disease issues. For this reason, Oregon Department of Fish and Wildlife asked us not to rehab and release these babies. So we got permission to keep them as Animal Ambassadors. Pumba’s brother did not do well in rehab and became very mean, which is typical for raccoons, so he had to be humanely euthanized. Pumba, however, realized that he had a very spoiled life ahead of him and has become a wonderful addition to our Animal Ambassadors.
