Joanne was born and raised on a dairy farm in the central valley of California, so taking care of animals has been a life-long love. She had a 20+ career as an education coordinator for a local natural history museum and a small rural zoo. A large part of her job at both organizations was the care & feeding of the native & exotic animal ambassadors. Along with running the education department she worked with groups of volunteer docents & teen volunteers in all aspects of the job. Her motto was, & is, “I never asked my staff or volunteers to do anything I wouldn’t do myself”. We worked as a team and that team worked & created one of the most successful education programs that both organizations ever had. That is my proudest accomplishment. Now retired from a 10 hour workday, she & her husband moved to Oregon in 2014 to continue farming! As part of the Badger Run team Joanne’s duties include feeding, presentations, rescues, & keeping reports current.
